CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Audi Q7

Summary
With 258 currently listed for sale and an average price of $16,583, 37.6% of 2018 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Audi Q7 4.9 / 5 stars.
74.0% of 2018 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends Audi’s clean, angular design with a practical cabin and strong road manners. It offers comfortable front and second-row seating, and its interior feels more modern than the previous Q7 thanks to digital instrumentation and an infotainment setup that, for the first time, could include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Navigation Plus package. Buyers also get a useful amount of cargo space for the class, though the third row is best left for children.
What makes the 2018 Q7 especially appealing is the choice between a turbocharged 252-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a turbocharged 333-hp 3.0-liter V6. The V6 is the better-rounded option, and it also unlocks 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. The SUV’s cleaner styling, matrix-design LED headlights, power-folding panoramic sunroof, and available premium touches help it feel upscale without being flashy.
There are tradeoffs, though. The base turbo four doesn’t provide enough power and has unimpressive fuel economy because it has to work hard, while the third row is cramped and cargo space shrinks when it’s in use. Even so, the 2018 Q7 remains attractive for shoppers who want a refined, family-friendly luxury SUV with good driving dynamics and a more polished technology story than the earlier model.

As a former Porsche Cayenne S owner, having a fully loaded vehicle is important to me. The Audi Q7 checks all of the boxes for the 2018 model! Great technology, comfort, and performance all wrapped up into this model year. True 7 passenger seating to boot. Great way to avoid steep depreciation on this vehicle investigating a three year old spec. Compare to the BMW X5 and you wont be disappointed!

So far, it’s an excellent vehicle with loads to offer a family. I think if we had to have just one vehicle it would be this or the sq7, if I had to give up my fun vehicle. Beautiful design inside and out, buttery smooth transition. Audi quality. Advanced tech and safety features. Traded in our Audi S3 for this since our family is growing.

Is the 2018 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Audi Q7 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently highlight the luxury feel, roomy interior, and performance, and many also appreciate the advanced technology and family-friendly layout. That lines up well with its role as a three-row luxury SUV that balances comfort, practicality, and a polished driving experience. With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding value if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a dependable ownership experience, with repeated praise for the vehicle’s luxury, space, and performance. That kind of positive long-term sentiment matters when you’re shopping used, because it often reflects a vehicle that owners feel confident living with over time. For you, the main risk is less about broad satisfaction and more about making sure the specific used example has been maintained well.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi Q7?
At 71.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one priced near the low end of the market. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and how well the cabin and technology systems have held up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi Q7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.
- Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,713 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 71.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $16,167, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $16,167 sits slightly below last year's $18,439.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the SUV for several years. For a future seller, the softer current pricing means resale upside may be more limited in the near term unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more if you want to protect value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 71.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $14,066, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $16,167 average.
- The redesign brought a lighter, more modern, and more practical Q7.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger balance of current-market value, owner satisfaction, and a more modern used-market profile, the 2018 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the Q7’s core strengths.
