What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi A4?

At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection so you can check for signs of uneven wear, poor repairs, or neglected maintenance.

Focus especially on overall condition, because a clean-looking luxury sedan can still hide expensive issues if it has had a rough past.

What is the 2018 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $15,758 sits slightly below last year's $16,905.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,637, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,758 average.
• The redesign brought a fresh start and a more modern feel.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around value proposition, the 2018 is the better primary target because it combines solid pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad inventory pool. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
