Used 2017 Volvo XC90 for Sale nearFayetteville, NC

How much does the 2017 Volvo XC90 cost?

Prices have softened 13.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,084 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of choices.

Is the 2017 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the XC90’s safety features, spacious interior, and upscale materials, and many say its build quality stands out among luxury SUVs. That lines up well with the XC90’s family-friendly three-row layout and premium feel, especially if you want a luxury SUV that balances practicality with refinement. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2017 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with strong impressions of build quality and few major complaints. That kind of response suggests the XC90 can be a solid long-term choice if you buy carefully and keep up with maintenance. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about finding a well-maintained example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Volvo XC90?

At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if a listing looks unusually well priced. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for signs of past damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Focus closely on overall condition, because a premium SUV like this can be rewarding to own only if the example you choose has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Volvo XC90?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,084 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,389, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $15,418 sits slightly below last year's $17,888.

That price movement suggests the XC90 has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the recent decline means resale gains may be harder to realize unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in excellent condition. Strong demand for a premium three-row SUV can still support value, but the market is clearly more favorable to buyers right now.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,817, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,418 average.
• It offers an all-new design with strong safety and flexible seating.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value path, especially if you find one with a clean history and solid condition.
