Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Volvo XC60?

At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of past collision repair, and overall mechanical health. Because this model’s value is tied closely to its premium feel and safety reputation, condition matters a lot when you compare listings.

What is the 2017 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $12,341 sits slightly below last year's $13,920.

That price movement suggests the XC60 has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the model is still attracting shoppers who value safety, comfort, and premium character, demand should remain reasonably steady. If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well, you improve your odds of getting a stronger resale offer later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $17,220, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $12,341 average.
• It brings an all-new platform and a more modern redesign.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the better value and a proven ownership experience. If you want the newer design and are willing to pay more, the 2018 is the stronger upgrade; if price matters most, the 2017 is the smarter starting point.
