How much does the 2017 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,037 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel economy, and cargo space, and many also like the smooth ride and broad feature set. That lines up well with the RAV4’s role as a practical compact SUV for everyday family use, especially if you want usefulness and value over flash. With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to reliability, dependability, and a vehicle many owners feel comfortable counting on over time. That kind of feedback matters for used buyers because it suggests the RAV4 can be a lower-risk choice for long-term ownership if you keep up with routine maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on body panels, alignment, tires, and signs of uneven wear that can hint at past repairs. Focus your attention on overall condition and maintenance records, since a well-kept example is likely to be the better long-term buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a decent example.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,037 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,663, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,505 sits slightly above last year's $17,432.

That small increase suggests the RAV4 has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand, so you are less likely to face a sharp drop in value if you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain service records. For a used SUV, that kind of consistency can make ownership easier to justify financially.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a well-liked, value-oriented RAV4 with stable pricing and broad market availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby years to see whether a cleaner or cheaper example gives you a better overall package, but the 2017 remains a sensible target if condition and history check out.
