How much does the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 2.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,593 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — 4.88/5 is a strong user rating, and owners consistently praise the safety features, smooth handling, and comfortable ride. The review summary also points to reliability and fuel efficiency as recurring strengths, which fits a compact crossover that works well for everyday use. With its practical cargo space and all-weather character, it makes the most sense if you want a small vehicle that can handle daily driving and light adventure use. 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary repeatedly highlights reliability, and owners also describe it as dependable and a good choice for everyday use. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used vehicle you can count on over time, especially when you plan to keep it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Subaru Crosstrek?

At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, suspension, and interior condition, since those areas can reveal how the car was treated. Focus on overall wear and maintenance evidence, not just mileage, because a well-kept example is the one most likely to reward you later.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing appears, but you should still compare carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,593 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,724, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $14,214 sits slightly below last year's $14,551.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong upkeep should matter more than ever if you want to protect value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $12,522, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $14,214 average.
• It adds useful safety tech and a refreshed look.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $16,014, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $14,214 average.
• It brings a full redesign with a more modern, high-riding feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want the newer redesign and can spend more, the 2018 is the upgrade path to consider.
