Used 2017 Porsche Panamera for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2017 Porsche Panamera cost?

Prices have softened 5.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 331 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Porsche Panamera a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Porsche Panamera earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise the power, handling, and luxury features, especially in sports mode, and they also appreciate the spacious interior. That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a practical four-door that still delivers the kind of driving experience you expect from Porsche. Even with those strengths, the market still shows room to shop, with 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2017 Porsche Panamera reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to you: strong performance, luxury features, and a spacious cabin that owners continue to enjoy over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Panamera is engineered to extremes, which supports the impression of a well-built, confidence-inspiring car. Porsche’s own description of the cabin and chassis suggests a vehicle designed for serious long-term use, though depreciation can still be a factor for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Porsche Panamera?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear, electronics, and any signs of deferred maintenance. Since this is a high-end performance sedan, condition matters as much as mileage, especially if you want to avoid expensive surprises later.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin and feature set vary meaningfully by version, with the Turbo standing out for its full-leather interior, four bucket seats, and more upscale presentation. Base versions are less lavish, so you should pay close attention to which comfort and convenience features are included before you buy.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 with 330 horsepower, a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 440 horsepower, and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 550 horsepower and 567 pound-feet of torque. AWD is standard on all but the base Panamera and Panamera S, and the hybrid variants add an electric motor and battery for more output.
• Safety package: Night vision with pedestrian detection, auto-braking, lane-keep assist, and other active safety features are available. Porsche does not go as far with safety tech as some rivals, so you should confirm exactly which driver-assistance items are fitted on the car you’re considering.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system includes LTE and Wi-Fi, fast response, and advanced interface features such as proximity-based menus and graphical driver-assist displays.
• Fuel efficiency: The Panamera is EPA-rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Which 2017 Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?

The 2017 Porsche Panamera is offered in 6 trim levels: Panamera, Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S, Panamera Turbo, Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Panamera: This is the entry point if you want the least expensive way into the lineup, but it is also the most basic version. It uses the 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 and rear-wheel drive, so it makes sense if you care most about getting into the Panamera experience at the lowest price.
• Panamera 4: This adds all-wheel drive while keeping the 3.0-liter V6, making it the better all-around choice if you want extra traction without jumping to the higher-output V6 models.
• Panamera S: This trim brings the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 and rear-wheel drive, so it is the step up for buyers who want more punch without moving all the way to AWD.
• Panamera 4S: This is the best-value pick for many shoppers because it combines the stronger 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with all-wheel drive. It gives you a more complete performance-and-traction package than the lower trims.
• Panamera Turbo: This is the standout performance trim, with the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, 550 horsepower, and the most dramatic acceleration in the lineup. It also brings the most impressive cabin presentation in the test-drive notes.
• Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid: This is the top-output electrified version, pairing the V8 with electric assistance for 680 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque. It is the choice if you want maximum output and do not mind the added complexity.

Porsche’s safety content notes that active safety features are available, but the brand does not go as far with safety equipment as some rivals, so verify the exact package on any car you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Porsche Panamera?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 331 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,896, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Porsche Panamera's resale value?

The current average of $40,668 sits slightly below last year's $43,255.

That decline suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, but it also means you should think carefully about how much depreciation remains ahead of you. The cost-effectiveness notes say resale value is very strong overall, even though Turbo models take the biggest depreciation hit in the first three years. For you, that means a well-bought Panamera can still hold appeal, but trim choice matters if resale is part of your plan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Porsche Panamera safe?

The 2017 Porsche Panamera has not been crash-tested by government or insurance agencies.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Porsche says night vision with pedestrian detection, auto-braking, lane-keep assist, and other active safety features are available. The safety notes also make clear that Porsche does not go as far with safety technology as some rivals, so you should not assume every car has the same driver-assistance coverage. If safety tech is a priority, verify the exact equipment on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche Panamera or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new second-generation Panamera takes performance, style, and technology to the next forefront, and the Turbo model left testers especially impressed.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest blend of performance, luxury, and modern tech in this price band, the 2017 is the year to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017’s combination of strong owner satisfaction, softened pricing, and standout driving character makes it the more compelling choice for most shoppers.
