Used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport cost?

Prices have softened 2.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 586 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5. It earns an expert rating of 7.5/10, and the standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The Rogue Sport’s main appeal is its styling and cabin presentation, not its driving character. The overview frames it as a vehicle that leans more on image than performance, while the expert evaluation highlights attractive exterior design, a more upscale-feeling interior, and useful technology.

That makes it a better fit if you want a small crossover that looks sharp and feels well put together rather than one that prioritizes speed or excitement. 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The available expert impressions point to a vehicle that can handle everyday use competently, with a suspension that keeps ride motions in check and brakes that hold up well under stress. The performance notes also suggest the drivetrain is tuned more for routine commuting than for hard use, which can be a plus if you value simplicity over drama.

The cost-effectiveness commentary also emphasizes that you’re getting modern connected and driver-assistance technology for the money, which can help the vehicle feel current over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s appeal depends heavily on condition and equipment level, so a neglected example may feel less rewarding than the numbers suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history or missing equipment. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S is the least expensive choice, while the SV adds more equipment and the SL is the most upscale version. The cabin is described as attractive and more refined than many rivals, but the base setup leaves you with fewer of the desirable convenience and appearance upgrades.
• Powertrain: The Rogue Sport uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a CVT. The expert impressions say it feels fine around town but lacks urgency when you need to merge or pass, so you should buy it for commuting ease rather than strong acceleration.
• Safety package: The SV Premium Package adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights are restricted to the top trim level through the SL Premium Package, so lower trims miss some key driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The available NissanConnect system uses a 7-inch touchscreen and includes NissanConnect Mobile Apps, NissanConnect Services, and navigation. It does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, so smartphone integration is a notable gap.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert testing notes 27 mpg in combined driving from the EPA estimate and 24.4 mpg on the test loop.

Which 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport trim should I buy?

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping the equipment list simple. It is the trim to consider if you mainly care about the Rogue Sport’s styling and basic utility.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more of the useful technology and convenience features without jumping all the way to the top price. It is the sweet spot if you want a better-equipped Rogue Sport without paying for the most expensive version.
• SL: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale appearance and the most complete feature set. It is the one that gets the larger 19-inch wheels and is required for some of the higher-end equipment.

Safety-package note: automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights are reserved for the SL Premium Package, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are included with the SV Premium Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 586 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,049, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport's resale value?

The current average of $12,376 sits slightly below last year's $12,636.

That tells you the market has softened, which can work against a future seller if prices continue drifting lower. On the other hand, the current range still shows enough demand to keep values from falling sharply, especially for cleaner examples with desirable equipment.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available safety content highlights a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert on the SV Premium Package, plus automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights on the SL Premium Package. The SL Platinum Package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-departure prevention systems.

That means safety equipment is solid, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup. If safety tech matters to you, you should pay close attention to trim and package content before you buy.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says the Rogue Sport’s name is more about styling than performance, which is useful context if you want the look without expecting sporty driving.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a reasonable choice if you want a stylish small crossover and can find a clean, well-equipped example at the right price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained listing you can find rather than chasing the highest trim, since condition and equipment gaps matter a lot on this model.
