Is the 2017 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Driver feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable and comfortable to live with over time, especially when they value its upscale feel and feature content. Some reviews do mention reliability concerns, so you should treat maintenance history and condition as important parts of your decision. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you verify how well the specific vehicle has been cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Murano?

At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair, then focus on overall condition and maintenance documentation. Because this model is often chosen for comfort and features, make sure the cabin, electronics, and driving feel match the seller’s claims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,254 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,783, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $12,793 sits slightly below last year's $14,557.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can make future resale a little more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle well maintained, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later. Strong presentation and a clean history matter more when a model is already trending lower in the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,708, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $12,793 average.
• It emphasizes bold styling above all else.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger all-around ownership case, especially with its solid satisfaction score and current market softness. Consider the 2016 if your priority is saving money upfront and you’re comfortable trading some modern appeal for a lower purchase price.
