Used 2017 Nissan Altima for Sale nearNew York, NY

How much does the 2017 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 6.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,778 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and they also highlight its smooth handling and spacious interior. That lines up well if you want a roomy, efficient midsize sedan that prioritizes quiet, comfortable transportation and everyday practicality over driving excitement. With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and dependable, and they also point to trouble-free ownership, comfort, and fuel efficiency as recurring strengths. That kind of feedback suggests the car can be a sensible long-term choice if you buy one with a clean history and solid maintenance records. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or mechanical issues. Focus closely on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior repair quality, especially if the car has been in a collision. A careful review matters more here because the market includes a sizable number of cars with accident history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,778 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,606, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,663 sits slightly below last year's $10,351.

That softer pricing suggests the model has been under some resale pressure, which can work against you if you plan to sell soon. On the other hand, the lower entry price may help you buy in at a more favorable point, especially if you choose a well-kept example. Strong condition and a clean history will matter most if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,266, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $9,663 average.
• It offers a refreshed design with strong value and a comfortable, accommodating cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2017 is the safer default because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a softer market price. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better price-first alternative.
