Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with owners describing it as a vehicle they can count on for comfort and performance. It also suggests trouble-free use for many shoppers, especially those who value a long-term premium SUV experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-mileage examples may bring more expensive repair exposure if prior maintenance has been uneven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension behavior, electrical operation, and overall maintenance quality. Because this model can be costly to run, condition and service records matter more than simply chasing the lowest asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,286 listings available.

If you find a listing below $18,186, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $18,363 sits slightly below last year's $19,856.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. A softer market can also make resale more competitive later, since you may need to price your vehicle carefully against similar listings. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better path if you want a well-liked luxury SUV with a softer price trend and a broad set of listings to compare. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to cross-shop nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
