How much does the 2017 MINI Countryman cost?

Prices have softened 3.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 302 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 MINI Countryman a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the 2017 MINI Countryman’s appeal comes from its blend of MINI personality and a more practical shape than the brand’s smaller cars. It offers a useful mix of space, standard equipment, and driving character, while still keeping the round central display, toggle switches, and distinctive cabin design that make it feel unmistakably MINI. The tradeoff is that it is not the most practical choice in the class, since the ride is stiff, the base engines are weak, and cargo capacity trails some rivals. Still, if you want a compact SUV with personality and available all-wheel drive, it fits that brief well.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 MINI Countryman reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2017 MINI Countryman’s reliability picture is best understood through its straightforward gasoline powertrains and familiar feature set rather than any standout mechanical complexity. Its appeal is more about character, equipment, and usability than rugged simplicity, so a careful pre-purchase check matters. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example that has not been maintained consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 MINI Countryman?

At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then make sure the cabin, electronics, and mechanicals all feel consistent with the mileage and asking price. Because this model’s appeal depends heavily on condition and originality, a clean, well-kept example is worth more than one with unresolved cosmetic or structural issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 MINI Countryman?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 302 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,825, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $13,224 sits slightly below last year's $13,724.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the car presents than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the vehicle clean, documented, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 MINI Countryman or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a good pick if you want the MINI Countryman’s distinctive style, practical shape, and strong user satisfaction in a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing a specific model year alone.
