What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX60?

At 54.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition details that matter in a family SUV: interior wear, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the technology and convenience features still work as expected. If you can, compare several examples side by side so you can separate a clean, well-kept QX60 from one that has simply been priced aggressively.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin emphasizes large, easy-to-use controls, soft-touch materials, and upscale wood and metallic accents, while the seats are described as especially comfortable for long trips. The base trim starts at a lower price point, so you should check whether the example you’re considering includes the convenience and luxury features you want rather than assuming they’re standard.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and either front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The engine is stronger than in prior years, and the available drive modes include Normal, Snow, Sport, and Eco.
• Safety package: Available driver assistance includes forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning with rear cross-path detection, and predictive forward-collision warning. Standard safety equipment includes front and side impact airbags, front and rear crumple-zone architecture, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, and electronic brakeforce distribution.
• Infotainment: The QX60 uses an easy-to-use infotainment setup with large buttons that act as redundant controls. The Theater Package adds a pair of 8-inch seatback monitors, two sets of headphones, an HDMI port for the rear screens, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive versions are rated at 20 mpg city, 27 highway, 22 combined, while AWD versions are rated at 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined. The hybrid is rated at 25 mpg city, 27 highway, 26 combined.

Which 2017 INFINITI QX60 trim should I buy?

The 2017 INFINITI QX60 is offered in 2 trim levels: base FWD trim and AWD trim.

Here's the short version:

• base FWD trim: This is the lower-cost entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the QX60’s roomy cabin, luxury feel, and strong value without paying extra for all-wheel drive. It’s the best-value choice if you mainly drive in normal conditions and want to keep purchase price down.
• AWD trim: This is the better pick if you want all-weather traction and don’t mind paying more for it. It suits you best if you regularly deal with rain, snow, or rougher road conditions.

The safety content highlights available advanced driver-assistance features, so it’s worth checking whether the specific trim and package combination you’re considering includes the systems you want.

• Inventory: There are 565 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 INFINITI QX60's resale value?

The current average of $11,759 sits slightly below last year's $13,198.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the QX60 more appealing to you as a buyer today but less favorable if you’re thinking about future resale. If you buy at the right price, you may have less depreciation left to absorb than someone who bought when prices were higher. The key for a future seller is to keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid overpaying now, because resale value is easier to protect when your entry price is disciplined.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 INFINITI QX60 safe?

Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX60 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2017 if:

• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.

• The 2017 model brings a stronger 295-horsepower V6 and available hands-free power liftgate, while keeping the roomy, family-friendly luxury focus that defines the QX60.

The bottom line: If you want a spacious, comfortable luxury SUV and you find a clean example at a good price, the 2017 QX60 is a sensible buy. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also use the softer market to shop patiently and compare condition closely, since the best value will usually come from a well-kept listing with a strong history report and the right equipment.
