How much does the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 12.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 404 listings available, which gives you a workable pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its smooth ride, powerful engine, and value for money, and they also highlight the luxurious features and overall reliability. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a roomy midsize SUV with family-friendly utility and a more upscale feel. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable and dependable, and the feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about keeping over time. That said, because you are shopping used, long-term ownership risk still depends on maintenance history, mileage, and how carefully the specific example was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, prior bodywork, or neglected maintenance. Focus your condition check on the cabin, suspension feel, and overall mechanical smoothness so you can separate a clean, well-kept SUV from one that only looks good online.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,380, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $11,380 sits slightly below last year's $12,955.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned to limit further value loss. Demand should remain supported by the model’s practical size, comfort, and value-oriented appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,264, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $11,380 average.
• It emphasizes safety, roominess, and dependability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative with a stronger safety-and-dependability pitch, the 2018 is the better secondary path.
