How much does the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 11.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 403 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful engine, and value for money, and many also like the luxurious features and reliability. The Santa Fe’s roomy layout and family-friendly usefulness make it a practical fit if you want space and comfort without paying for a newer SUV. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable and dependable, and the feedback also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers. The combination of long-term confidence and value-oriented appeal makes it easier to justify as a used SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is buying a higher-mileage example that has not been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 59.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past collision issues. You should also focus on overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide maintenance or repair concerns.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 403 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,498, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $11,498 sits slightly below last year's $12,940.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. A lower entry price can also make it easier to attract budget-conscious buyers later, especially if your vehicle is well maintained. Strong condition and documented care matter more when a model is already trading below its prior-year average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,436, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $11,498 average.
• It emphasizes safety and dependability more strongly.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can spend more and want a newer-feeling value play, the 2018 is the better secondary path.
