How much does the 2017 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 13.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 864 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise the spacious interior, luxury features, and strong performance for family trips and towing. The Yukon XL’s long-wheelbase, truck-based layout makes it especially appealing if you want maximum passenger and cargo room with a more premium feel. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as dependable for family use, towing, and long-distance comfort, with owners often saying they can count on its roomy cabin and strong performance. That kind of feedback suggests the Yukon XL has the kind of long-term ownership appeal used buyers often want in a full-size SUV.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since size and complexity can make neglected examples more expensive to own.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus closely on body condition, signs of prior repair, and how well the interior and electronics have been cared for, since those details matter a lot on a large, feature-rich SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 864 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,064, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $19,064 sits slightly below last year's $22,075.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point now. For future resale, that also means your value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped and maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers in this segment still respond to space, comfort, and premium features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,087, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,064 average.
• It adds useful convenience and safety upgrades while keeping full-size SUV utility.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and market availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with the features you want.
