Is the 2017 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle people feel good about keeping over time, with comments centered on dependable everyday use, strong performance, and a trouble-free ownership experience. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce long-term ownership risk, though you should still verify condition carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any Yukon you’re seriously considering and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repair, since those can reveal past accident impact. It also makes sense to focus on cabin condition and seat wear, because the Yukon’s comfort and interior quality are central to the ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,593 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,672, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $21,672 sits slightly below last year's $23,623.

That price movement suggests the Yukon has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting further value loss. Demand should remain supported by the Yukon’s broad appeal as a roomy, well-equipped full-size SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the Yukon’s roomy cabin, premium-feeling features, and broad owner approval at a softened market price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 stands out as a balanced pick when you want value, space, and strong shopper confidence in one package.
