Generally — the 2017 Ford Taurus earns 4.4/5, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort and style, and many also like its performance, especially in SHO form. The Taurus also appeals if you want a full-size sedan with space and a broad range of powertrain choices, though some owners mention cramped interior space and awkward touchscreen controls. Is the 2017 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable and comfortable over time, with a mix of appreciation for its features and performance. Some shoppers also note concern about potential coolant issues, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of long-term ownership risk before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Ford Taurus?

At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and evidence of past repairs, then make sure the car drives cleanly and all electronics work as expected. Because owner feedback mentions potential coolant concerns, it also makes sense to focus on underhood condition and maintenance records.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Taurus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 492 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,847, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $10,847 sits slightly below last year's $11,998.

That price movement suggests the Taurus has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you if you buy at the right number. If you keep the car in good condition and maintain it well, you may be able to limit further value loss compared with a poorly maintained example. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 makes sense if you want a full-size sedan with comfort, space, and a broad range of choices, especially if you can find one with clean history and strong maintenance records. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may also be worth considering, but the 2017 stands out as a reasonable target when you want a balance of value and owner satisfaction.
