Used 2017 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearMiami, FL

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 8.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,152 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the Trax for its great gas mileage, compact size, and practical everyday usefulness. They also like its features and how well it handles, especially on hills.

That lines up with the Trax’s use case as a small crossover that prioritizes convenience, efficiency, and easy driving over luxury. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a practical, dependable ownership experience, with owners highlighting the Trax’s strong gas mileage, compact size, and everyday usefulness. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Trax is easy to live with as a small crossover, even if it is not the quickest or most refined vehicle in its class.

Chevrolet also gives you a straightforward turbocharged setup, which keeps the drivetrain simple rather than complicated. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a budget-friendly crossover like this can show wear in ride quality and comfort before it shows major mechanical drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

At 60% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, alignment, and any signs of prior repair work. Because the Trax was offered with different equipment levels, it also makes sense to confirm that the features you want are actually present on the specific listing you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS trim is the most stripped-down version, while the LT adds alloy wheels, projector headlights with LED running and tail lights, cruise control, remote start, heated mirrors, satellite radio, roof rails, upgraded cloth, a 110-volt outlet, and aesthetic upgrades. The Premier adds 18-inch alloys, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, full vinyl upholstery, and heated front seats, but it omits the sunroof unless you add it separately.
• Powertrain: Every Trax uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed transmission. The engine can feel strained during highway passing and hill climbing, and the smaller wheels on lower trims are generally easier to live with than the 18-inch setup on the Premier.
• Safety package: The Driver Confidence package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and parking sensors. The Driver Confidence II package adds forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning. The LS cannot be outfitted with these features, the LT can get everything except the forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems, and the Premier can add those extra warnings.
• Infotainment: Every Trax gets a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an extra USB port. The system is useful for everyday use, and the available Bose audio upgrade is a worthwhile step up if you care about sound quality.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax is rated at 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, or 28 mpg combined.

Which 2017 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2017 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Trax experience with standard tech such as the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and a rear-view camera. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it skips the more desirable convenience and safety upgrades.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the most useful everyday upgrades without pushing you all the way to the top price. You get alloy wheels, projector headlights with LED running and tail lights, cruise control, remote start, heated mirrors, satellite radio, roof rails, and access to useful option packages.
• Premier: This is the most feature-rich trim, with 18-inch alloys, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, full vinyl upholstery, and heated front seats. It suits you if you want the most upscale Trax, but the content suggests the ride and wheel setup are less forgiving than the LT.

The safety-package trims are worth noting: the LS cannot get the driver-assistance features, the LT can get most of them, and the Premier can add the forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,152 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,008, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $9,008 sits slightly below last year's $9,816.

That decline suggests the Trax is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

The good news is that the model’s practical appeal and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand in the used market. Buyers who want a small, efficient crossover tend to keep cross-shopping this kind of vehicle, which can help resale stability over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The Trax has been awarded top marks from both the government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning, with lane-departure warning also available on higher equipment. The LS cannot be outfitted with these features, while the LT gets most of them and the Premier can add the full set.

One caveat is that the Trax’s stopping distance is only average for the class, which keeps it from feeling especially impressive in emergency braking situations.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 model stands out for its redesign inside and out, plus standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and newly available safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated version of this Trax generation, the 2017 is the one to target because it brings the refreshed styling, better tech, and broader safety content. If your priority is simply the lowest purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 gives you the strongest mix of features and market value.
