Is the 2017 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as refined and trouble-free in day-to-day use. The same feedback also points to strong long-term appeal thanks to its comfort, practicality, and premium feel. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that maintenance history matters a lot, so a well-kept example is the safer path.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Audi Q5?

At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to the suspension, sunroof, and engine condition. You should also focus on overall maintenance quality, since a premium SUV like this can be rewarding only if it has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Audi Q5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,578 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,355, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $12,355 sits slightly below last year's $13,664.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make resale a little more competitive for future sellers. If you buy now, you may want to focus on condition, mileage, and service records because those factors matter more when the broader market is trending down. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal, but buyers will likely be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,571, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $12,355 average.
• It brings a full redesign with more technology, room, and sophistication.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-generation package, the 2018 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize the redesign over savings.
