Is the 2017 Audi A6 a good car?

The 2017 Audi A6 is a mixed but appealing used luxury sedan if you value style, comfort, and premium features over low ownership costs. Its user rating is 3.9/5.

Owners commonly praise its stunning looks, comfortable ride, and high-quality electronics. The overview also points to a broad feature set and useful tech, including available adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and a premium sound system, which makes it a strong fit if you want a refined daily driver with upscale equipment.

With 33.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2017 Audi A6 reliable?

The 2017 Audi A6 is presented as a polished luxury sedan with a strong feature set, but owner feedback suggests maintenance costs can be a concern. Many drivers describe it as comfortable and high-quality, while also noting concerns about high repair costs and some performance issues like engine leaks and handling feel.

If you buy used, long-term ownership risk is tied less to the car’s appeal and more to how well it has been maintained, so service history matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Audi A6?

At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury sedans. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork or deferred service, since those factors can matter more than mileage alone on a used A6.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, especially if you’re willing to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 568 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,144, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $14,144 sits slightly below last year's $15,516.

That tells you the market has moved down, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing trend suggests you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. A well-kept example should still be easier to move than one with incomplete records or visible wear.

Should I buy a 2017 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a smart target if you want the updated features and current pricing pressure of this model year, especially if you can verify a clean history and strong maintenance. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
