At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. What is the 2016 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $11,123 sits slightly below last year's $11,900.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved through a meaningful portion of its depreciation curve, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you choose a well-kept example, you may have a better chance of limiting further value loss. Strong demand for a comfortable, safety-focused luxury crossover can also help support resale interest when it's time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.53% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 XC60 makes the most sense if you want a well-liked, safety-focused luxury SUV and you can verify condition carefully.
