Is the 2016 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Volvo S60 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its safety features, luxurious interior, and comfortable seating, and many also like its performance. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury sedan with a calm, upscale feel and a focus on comfort and safety. With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also describes the car as reliable, dependable, and a vehicle you can count on, especially for buyers who value a trouble-free ownership experience. That said, used-car reliability always depends on maintenance history and how the car was treated over time, so a careful pre-purchase review still matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Volvo S60?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history. Then prioritize a thorough inspection, with extra attention to body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repair work. It also makes sense to focus on interior condition and electronics, since those are the kinds of details that can separate a clean example from one that has been heavily used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Volvo S60?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 319 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,550, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $10,775 sits slightly below last year's $11,936.

That price decline suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at a sensible price and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell. Strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,959, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,775 average.
• It feels refreshed and more current than its age suggests.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still offers a compelling value proposition.
