Used 2016 Toyota Sequoia for Sale near New Mexico

How much does the 2016 Toyota Sequoia cost?

Prices have softened 6.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 234 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2016 Sequoia is a full-size, body-on-frame SUV with seating for up to eight passengers depending on the second-row layout, so it fits well if you want truck-like toughness and three-row practicality in one package. Its appeal is rooted in proven mechanicals, strong towing ability, dependable powertrains, and long-running value retention, while its size and rugged setup make it a better match for buyers who prioritize utility over refinement. 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Sequoia’s reliability case is built around tried-and-true components, a proven 5.7-liter V8, and a reputation for durability. It is also described as a reliable family hauler with dependable powertrains and strong long-term value retention. For used buyers, that usually means lower drama over time if the vehicle has been maintained well, but you should still expect age-related wear on a large, truck-based SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota Sequoia?

At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall wear consistent with a large SUV. Because this model is built for toughness and utility, condition matters a lot: a well-kept example is much easier to justify than one with hidden damage or deferred maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota Sequoia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,734, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $23,859 sits slightly below last year's $25,630.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should focus on buying a clean, well-documented example so you have the best chance of preserving value. Strong condition and a solid maintenance history matter more when the market is already trending lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a full-size SUV with proven durability, strong towing ability, and a clear value story, the 2016 Sequoia is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
