Used 2016 Toyota Sequoia for Sale nearDayton, OH

How much does the 2016 Toyota Sequoia cost?

Prices have softened 5.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 243 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers comparing prices.

Is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Toyota Sequoia is a full-size, body-on-frame SUV with seating for up to eight passengers depending on the second-row layout, so it fits you well if you want truck-like toughness and three-row practicality in one package. Its appeal is rooted in proven mechanicals, strong towing ability, dependable powertrains, and long-running value retention, while its older-school design means you should expect a large SUV with real utility rather than crossover-like refinement. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Toyota Sequoia’s reliability case is built around tried-and-true components, a durable body-on-frame layout, and a proven 5.7-liter V8 that helped define the model’s reputation for durability. That said, you should still treat any used example as a truck-based SUV with age-related wear potential, so a careful inspection matters if you want to minimize long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota Sequoia?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on structural condition, signs of prior repair, and overall mechanical health. Because this is a large, truck-based SUV, you should pay close attention to how the vehicle presents as a whole rather than relying on mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota Sequoia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,770, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $24,058 sits slightly below last year's $25,479.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation rather than on broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still benefit from the model’s reputation for durability and long-running value retention.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 Toyota Sequoia makes the most sense if you want a rugged, full-size SUV with strong owner approval and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If you’re price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 is a solid primary target when you want proven capability and are willing to pay attention to the details that matter most on a used truck-based SUV.
