Should I buy a 2016 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.16% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the refreshed look, the tech-forward cabin, and the broad appeal that helped define the Model S. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby older year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as the better all-around pick when you want a balance of owner satisfaction, market demand, and modern-feeling features.
