Used 2016 Subaru WRX STI for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2016 Subaru WRX STI cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 226 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Subaru WRX STI a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Subaru WRX STI is presented as a focused performance sedan that blends serious speed with everyday usability, and its standard all-wheel drive gives it all-weather confidence that broadens its appeal beyond pure weekend fun. It is also described as a good blend of serious performance and day-to-day practicality, so you can think of it as a fit if you want an enthusiast car that still handles basic daily duties. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Subaru WRX STI reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Subaru WRX STI’s appeal is rooted in its hardware and driver involvement, including a turbocharged 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and Subaru’s Driver Controlled Center Differential. It also includes Multi-mode Vehicle Dynamics Control and Subaru Intelligent Drive, which reinforce its performance-focused setup.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the car and more about how hard it may have been driven, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Subaru WRX STI?

At 53.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has had any accidents, modifications, or repeated ownership changes. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and signs of hard use, since this model’s performance focus can mean more wear than you might expect. You should also pay close attention to overall condition, because the best example is likely to be the one that has been maintained carefully rather than simply driven lightly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru WRX STI?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 226 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,429, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru WRX STI's resale value?

The current average of $20,826 sits slightly above last year's $20,729.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed relatively stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later because it points to steady buyer interest rather than sharp depreciation. The year’s pricing range also shows that values have remained fairly contained, so a well-kept example should be easier to position competitively when it is time to list it. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially for a performance model that attracts enthusiasts looking for a specific driving experience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru WRX STI or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a performance sedan with rally-bred character, standard all-wheel drive, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping within the broader model-year range and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the cheapest listing.
