CarGurus Analysis: 2016 Subaru Outback
overall
Summary
With 1,744 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,410, 31.9% of 2016 Subaru Outback listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Subaru Outback 4.33 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
62.6% of 2016 Subaru Outback listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2016 Subaru Outback stands out as a vehicle built for active use rather than pure driving excitement. Its appeal is in how easily it supports real-world adventures: you can pack people aboard, load the cargo area with provisions, and head into the mountains. That versatility is the core of its personality, and it helps explain why the Outback has such a strong reputation with buyers who want one vehicle to handle family duty and outdoor plans.
At the same time, the 2016 Outback is not presented as especially quick or powerful, and the source makes that limitation clear by saying it really needs a turbocharger. Even so, owners are generally pleased with its spaciousness, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and many also value its safety features and handling. A few drivers have noted concerns about the leather seats, saying they can stain and rip after some use, so the cabin’s materials may not feel as durable as the rest of the vehicle’s practical design.

love my car so far, very smooth driving and the bluetooth is a nice feature as well as the heated seats, my model doesn’t have the sunroof which is a bummer but overall the vehicle is a beaut. very spacious for me and my dogs when we travel in the car for extended periods of time; and ample trunk space for anything we may pick up on the way.

It’s my first time getting a Subaru and an Outback. It’s the limited and it drives very nice, I’m actually very impressed with how well it feels. We have 3 kids ages 11, 9, 5 and they fit in the back just fine. I like how I still feel somewhat off the ground but yet get the car gas mileage. I’d say it compares to my Highlander we had just no 3rd row.
