How much does the 2016 RAM 2500 cost?

There are 1,863 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 RAM 2500 earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its powerful performance and towing capability, and many also value its comfort and reliability for everyday driving. That makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle work duties without feeling stripped down. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability alongside comfort, and several reviews describe it as dependable for everyday driving. At the same time, some owners mention transmission concerns in higher-mileage trucks without service history, so condition and maintenance records matter. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is buying a truck with hidden wear or incomplete service documentation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 2500?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on the truck’s overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use, especially if it has higher mileage. A careful test drive and a close look at service history can help you avoid trucks that may look good online but carry more risk underneath.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,863 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,524, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $27,543 sits slightly below last year's $29,463.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also suggests resale values have eased compared with the prior year. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept truck with documented maintenance should hold up better than one with uncertain history. Strong condition matters even more in a heavy-duty pickup, where buyers often pay close attention to wear, mileage, and service records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,358, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $27,543 average.
• It broadens its appeal with more family-friendly livability and added everyday comfort.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2016 if you want the better value and a strong mix of capability and owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer truck with a more livable feel, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
