Used 2016 RAM 2500 for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2016 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,752 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 RAM 2500 earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance and towing capabilities, and many also appreciate the comfort and reliability for everyday driving. That makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle work while still feeling livable day to day. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, comfort, and a truck that many people feel confident using for everyday driving. At the same time, some owners mention concerns with the 68RFE 6-speed automatic transmission, especially in higher-mileage trucks without service history. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on maintenance records and avoid trucks with unclear upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 2500?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the transmission and any high-mileage truck with incomplete maintenance documentation. Focus on overall condition, because a heavy-duty truck’s past use can matter as much as its mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,752 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,520, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $27,949 sits slightly below last year's $29,804.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect your future resale position. Trucks with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,545, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $27,949 average.
• It adds a more modern, family-friendly feel with broader everyday livability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer truck with a more modern feel, the 2017 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize that extra refinement.
