Used 2016 Nissan Murano for Sale nearFlint, MI

How much does the 2016 Nissan Murano cost?

Prices have softened 6.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,168 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Nissan Murano earns a 4/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The Murano’s appeal is rooted in its bold styling and distinctive design, while the overall package is described as prioritizing style over substance. That makes it a strong fit if you want a crossover with visual character and a more upscale cabin feel, but less compelling if you want the most modern-feeling all-around SUV.

Good and great deals: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Murano’s 3.5-liter V6 is described as refined, efficient, and deceptively strong, and the transmission is presented as improved over older CVTs by using programmed gear ratios that make it feel more like a regular automatic. The expert review also describes the powertrain as dependable over time, and the cost-effectiveness commentary reinforces that the model has consistently demonstrated outstanding reliability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match its reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on overall condition, prior damage, and whether the equipment and features still work as expected, since the Murano’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Murano is offered in S, SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels. The cabin is described as modern and contemporary, with the higher trims adding a more upscale feel, while the base setup is more straightforward.
• Powertrain: Every 2016 Murano uses a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 paired with a next-generation CVT. The engine is described as refined, efficient, and strong, though the transmission can hunt between ratios on mountain grades.
• Safety package: The Murano can be optioned with a long list of modern technologies, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, and optional blind-spot monitoring. Lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian-detection capability are missing.
• Infotainment: The system includes a responsive touchscreen, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, satellite radio, Bluetooth streaming audio, voice recognition, and a hands-free text-messaging assistant. The larger 8-inch touchscreen comes with navigation, online Google search capability, and SiriusXM Travel Link, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the Murano returned 21.1 mpg in combined driving, while the commentary notes that this fell short of the EPA expectation of 24 mpg combined.

Which 2016 Nissan Murano trim should I buy?

The 2016 Nissan Murano is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Murano lineup, and it makes sense if you want the styling and V6 power without paying for extra equipment. It is the least expensive path, but you give up the richer feature content found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the trim that most buyers should start with because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing the price as high as the upper trims. It should be the best-value choice if you want a balanced mix of comfort, convenience, and cost.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more of the Murano’s comfort-oriented character. It suits you if you care more about cabin polish and added equipment than about keeping the purchase price down.
• Platinum: This is the trim for you if you want the most fully equipped Murano and are willing to pay for it. It delivers the most premium presentation in the lineup.

The safety package includes modern driver-assistance technology, but lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian-detection capability are not part of the setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,708, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $11,708 sits slightly below last year's $12,519.

That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the market has softened, your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and documentation. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano safe?

The 2016 Nissan Murano earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Murano includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, and optional blind-spot monitoring. It also has an AroundView 360-degree camera monitoring system with moving object detection.

A key caveat is that lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian-detection capability are missing from the available safety tech.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the review: the Murano’s bold redesign and Top Safety Pick+ rating make it especially appealing if style and safety matter most to you.

The bottom line: The 2016 Murano makes the most sense if you want a stylish crossover with strong safety credentials and a softer used-market price. If you’re shopping primarily on value, this year looks attractive; if you want the newest-feeling tech and a more modern feature set, a nearby year may be worth considering.
