How much does the 2016 Mazda CX-3 cost?

Prices are up 1.94% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 216 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2016 Mazda CX-3’s overview backs that up with a clear identity as a stylish, fun-to-drive small crossover. You get a tidy footprint, a strong standard equipment list, and a premium-leaning feel for the class, which makes it appealing if you want a compact SUV that feels more engaging than purely practical. Its standard safety tech and available connected features also help it stand out if you value equipment and everyday usability. The market shows 35.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a well-equipped small crossover with a solid safety feature set and a straightforward powertrain, which can be reassuring for used-car shoppers. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is likely to come from finding a well-kept example rather than from the model’s basic formula itself.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of repair quality. Because this model is small and practical compromises are part of its design, focus on overall condition and maintenance history rather than expecting generous rear-seat or cargo space.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.94% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 61.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,163, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $12,405 sits slightly above last year's $12,169.

That price movement suggests the market has held up reasonably well, which can help support resale confidence if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and avoid overpaying upfront, you give yourself a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later. The fact that prices are still above last year’s level also suggests buyers continue to see value in this model year’s mix of style and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.94% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the CX-3’s style, compact size, and well-equipped feel, especially if you can find a clean example at a competitive price. If you’re more price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained listing rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
