Used 2016 Mazda CX-3 for Sale nearRockford, IL

How much does the 2016 Mazda CX-3 cost?

Prices have softened 3.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 215 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of used CX-3s to compare.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Mazda CX-3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a small crossover with a distinctly upscale feel for its size, plus standard safety equipment and a sporty, well-equipped cabin. It also highlights a premium personality that sets it apart from many vehicles in this class, while still asking you to accept some compromises in space and usability. 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes standard safety equipment and a well-equipped cabin, which can be reassuring if you want a small crossover that feels thoughtfully outfitted. Its main tradeoffs are more about practicality than durability, with a cramped back seat and cargo area plus fussy infotainment controls. For used buyers, that means your long-term ownership risk is less about the vehicle’s basic appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and still suits your space needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your condition check on signs of past repairs, uneven panel gaps, and any wear that suggests the car may have been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 215 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,164, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $12,450 sits slightly below last year's $12,861.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. If you plan to sell later, the current trend means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the market is already pricing the model conservatively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most affordable entry into the CX-3 lineup and you value its upscale feel, the 2016 is the right place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
