Should I buy a 2016 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,314, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,524 average.
• It emphasizes distinctive styling and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the stronger all-around market balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your main goal is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you find one in clean condition and can live with its older-year tradeoffs.
