Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The overview describes it as a small luxury crossover with a sleek, low-slung shape, Mercedes-Benz branding, and a relatively accessible entry point into the lineup. It also highlights standard features like a 7-inch infotainment unit, keyless ignition, and dual-zone climate control, plus a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and available all-wheel drive, which makes it appealing if you want premium features in a compact footprint. The market also shows 34.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview points to a compact luxury crossover that combines premium branding, available all-wheel drive, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which gives you a straightforward mechanical setup for the model year. It also suggests the GLA is best suited to buyers who value style and performance more than maximum utility, so long-term ownership risk is more about living with its size and packaging tradeoffs than about chasing a more complicated vehicle class.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put the inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then make sure the interior and cargo area still meet your needs. Because this model is known for limited cargo space and a not-especially-generous rear seat area, it’s smart to focus on how well the specific car’s condition matches your daily use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 444 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,777, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $11,777 sits slightly below last year's $13,764.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell. Strong demand for a premium-branded compact crossover can also help support resale, especially if the car is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the best mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and high owner satisfaction in this model-year window. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower-mileage or better-conditioned example offers a better overall value, but the 2016 already looks attractive if you find a clean one at the right price.
