How much does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 cost?

Prices have softened 2.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 492 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its performance, power, comfort, handling, and spaciousness, and many also see it as a strong value for the price. That lines up with the overview: you get a stylish, comfortable, technologically sophisticated luxury sports sedan with a range of personalities depending on how you configure it. Even so, the car’s identity can feel a little murky, and some owners point to the infotainment system and steering feel as weak spots. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its performance, comfort, and overall value helping reinforce confidence in ownership. The expert review also describes it as a car you can take more seriously after the 2016 update, which suggests the model’s core package is solid. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that condition can vary, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and how well the car’s electronics and steering feel have held up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

At 45.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Q50’s appeal depends heavily on comfort, technology, and driving feel, you should also test the infotainment system, steering behavior, and general cabin condition before you commit. If you’re shopping a higher-mileage example, make sure the car still feels tight and that its features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0t Premium review car shows that the entry setup can leave out leather seats, navigation, and safety-related driver-assistance systems, so you should check carefully for feature gaps if you’re considering a lower trim.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 208 horsepower and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission; the review notes decent acceleration, but not especially energetic performance.
• Safety package: The optional Driver Assistance package adds predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Premium models use a dual-screen infotainment system with a 14-speaker Bose audio system, but the review notes no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The review cites 26 mpg combined EPA fuel economy and a test-loop result of 26.3 mpg.

Which 2016 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0t, 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, Red Sport 400.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0t: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Q50’s style, comfort, and technology at the lowest starting cost. It gives you the core luxury-sedan experience, but the review makes clear that you may want to step up if you care more about stronger performance or more standard equipment.
• 3.0t: This is the better all-around choice if you want more satisfying power without jumping all the way to the performance-focused models. It’s the trim to target if you want the Q50’s personality to feel more complete.
• Hybrid: Choose this if you want the Q50’s luxury and tech with a more efficiency-minded setup. It broadens the lineup for shoppers who want a different balance than the gas-only trims.
• Sport: This is the best-value pick for buyers who want a more engaging driving experience. It’s the trim to consider if you care most about the Q50’s performance character.
• Red Sport 400: This is the top performance choice, aimed at shoppers who want the strongest driving experience in the lineup.

For safety equipment, the Driver Assistance package is not standard on the 2.0t Premium review car, while the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, and Red Sport 400 can be equipped with additional driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 492 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,247, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 INFINITI Q50's resale value?

The current average of $13,568 sits slightly below last year's $13,893.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Q50 is still accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and equipment. If you own a well-kept example with desirable features, you’ll be in a better position to hold buyer interest. Listings with strong equipment and clean history should remain easier to move than rougher examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 safe?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driver Assistance package adds predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. For additional driver-assistance features, you’ll need to move up to the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, or Red Sport 400, which can add blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention, active lane control, adaptive headlights, and pre-crash seat belts. The review also notes that crash-test results were not carried forward for 2016, so you should pay close attention to the presence of safety equipment on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2016 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 update made the Q50 feel more credible as a legitimate luxury sports sedan.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,768, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,568 average.
• It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable all-weather performer to fast sports sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the more polished and credible version of the Q50, the 2016 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the 2016 update’s refinement, the 2015 can still make sense as a lower-cost alternative.

How does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 compare to the 2016 BMW 3 Series?

Our experts score the 2016 INFINITI Q50 6.7/10 and the 2016 BMW 3 Series 7.5/10. The Q50 brings more horsepower and a lower average used price, while the 3 Series counters with better fuel economy, more listings, and a higher share of good and great deals. If you want the stronger value on paper and a more powerful base engine, the Q50 has the edge; if you want broader shopping selection and stronger efficiency, the BMW is the safer bet.
