How much does the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 412 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Santa Fe stands out as a larger, more polished SUV than Hyundai’s earlier efforts, and it gives you the flexibility of two-row or three-row configurations. The third-row version is especially notable for its rear-seat legroom, and the cabin comes well equipped for its era with practical everyday features.

That makes it a sensible fit if you want a family-friendly SUV with useful space and a broad range of equipment choices. 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Santa Fe is described as generally safe and well equipped, with a cabin that offers useful features and a broad set of powertrain choices. It also brings practical family-oriented touches such as available heated second-row seats, leather, a backup camera, and dual-zone climate control on three-row models.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and has a clean history, since condition matters more when you’re shopping a model with mixed prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 59% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, paint, and alignment, since those areas can reveal whether prior repairs were done well.

You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a three-row model that may have seen heavier family use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 412 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,665, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $10,115 sits slightly below last year's $11,174.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for you to recover top-dollar resale value if you buy at the wrong price. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is to buy well, keep the vehicle in strong condition, and avoid examples with questionable history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,709, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,115 average.
• It offers a practical, fun-to-drive balance with strong turbocharged acceleration.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of value, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your budget is tighter and you want to spend less up front, the 2015 is the more price-sensitive alternative.
