How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 1.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,349 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — your 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert score is 6.8/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the Accord for comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and they also value its safety features and interior quality. That lines up with the car’s role as a comfortable, reliable sedan with good value, even if some owners note quality issues in certain units.

With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively rather than rush.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers also describe it as reliable and appreciate its trouble-free, dependable character, especially for long-term ownership.

The expert evaluation reinforces that theme by calling it a good hedge against unanticipated expenses and noting favorable reliability ratings. It also points to low insurance costs and strong fuel-economy estimates as part of the ownership picture.

Honda’s maintenance and ownership costs look manageable, but the car’s small flaws can still add up over time. For used buyers, the main risk is not one major weakness so much as a collection of minor issues that may become annoying if the car was not well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 43.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, warning lights, and any evidence that the car’s many small systems were not maintained carefully.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the entry point, while the EX, EX-L, Sport, and Touring add more equipment and upscale touches; the Touring is the most fully equipped. The base setup lacks some of the nicer convenience and tech features found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, while the Sport gets a slightly stronger version and the EX-L and Touring can be had with a V6. The 4-cylinder is refined and efficient, while the V6 delivers much stronger passing power.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on every version, but you cannot pair it with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Siri Eyes Free, and a tablet-like interface. Lower trims miss that system and stick with simpler connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder engine is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the Touring returned better than 34 mpg on the open road in testing.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value starting point if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras. It makes sense if you care most about the sedan’s comfort, efficiency, and overall balance.
• Sport: This trim adds a more athletic feel and is the best-value choice if you want a little more character without jumping to the pricier upper trims.
• EX: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it unlocks the better infotainment setup and adds useful convenience and safety-related equipment.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and the option to step up to the V6 for stronger performance.
• Touring: This is the fully loaded choice, with the most equipment and the standard Honda Sensing package; it suits you best if you want the most complete Accord experience.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,349 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 43.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,133, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,327 sits slightly below last year's $14,516.

That modest decline suggests the Accord is holding value reasonably well, but not strongly enough to signal rising resale momentum. If you buy now, you should expect the market to remain competitive rather than sharply appreciating.

For a future seller, that means condition and documentation will matter a lot. A clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment should help your car stand out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star frontal-impact protection from the federal government.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the key driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is available on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.

The Accord also comes with a standard reversing camera, including three viewpoints and a 180-degree rear view. One caveat is that rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not included, and LaneWatch only monitors the right side on EX, EX-L, and Touring models.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 43.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda made a number of improvements to the 2016 Accord, making it better in several ways.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,231, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,327 average.
• It is a well-engineered midsize sedan with strong long-term dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and improved version, the 2016 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you can live with fewer updates, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path.

How does the 2016 Honda Accord compare to the 2016 Toyota Camry?

Our experts score the 2016 Honda Accord 6.8/10 and the 2016 Toyota Camry 7.2/10.

The Accord gives you stronger performance, better city and highway fuel economy, and a lower average used price. The Camry counters with a slightly higher expert score and a bit more accident-free inventory in the market data. If you want the more engaging and efficient sedan, the Accord has the edge; if you want the slightly better-scoring alternative, the Camry is worth a look.
