How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 1.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,345 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.38/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and many also value the safety features and interior quality. That lines up well with the Accord’s role as a comfortable, practical family sedan with broad everyday appeal. Even so, the car’s small annoyances keep it from feeling flawless, so it fits you best if you want a sensible sedan with strong value rather than a perfectly polished one. 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers describe it as reliable and dependable, and the ownership feedback also points to trouble-free everyday use and confidence over the long term. Honda also frames the car as a good hedge against unanticipated expenses, with favorable reliability ratings helping support its appeal.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Accord is a good hedge against unanticipated expenses and an affordable family car. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that small quality issues and isolated defects can add up, so condition matters more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 43.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a prior collision. Focus on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs that repairs were done cleanly, since those details matter more when accident history is part of the picture. It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the car’s features work in real-world use, because the Accord’s appeal depends on a mix of comfort, technology, and safety equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Accord LX is the entry point, while the Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring add equipment and upgrades. The LX and Sport miss Honda’s latest touchscreen infotainment system, and the EX, EX-L, and Touring get LaneWatch, while the Touring is the most fully equipped version.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, with the Sport tuned to 189 hp. If you want the 3.5-liter V6 with 278 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque, you need the EX-L with the V6 option or the Touring.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Touring and available on every version, but you cannot pair it with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: The upgraded system uses a 7-inch touchscreen, HondaLink connected services, Siri Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The LX and Sport do not get this setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder engine is described as refined and efficient, and the V6 averaged 24.6 mpg on the test loop, with better than 34 mpg on the open road at highway speeds.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the least expensive way into the Accord, but you give up the upgraded touchscreen infotainment system. It makes sense if you want the basics and plan to keep costs down.
• Sport: The Sport adds a bit more power from the 2.4-liter engine and larger brakes and wheels, but it still misses the upgraded infotainment system. It suits you if you want a more engaging feel without moving up too far in price.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and LaneWatch. It gives you a strong mix of tech and everyday usability.
• EX-L: This trim adds more equipment and is the gateway to the V6 option, which makes it a good choice if you want more power and a more upscale feel.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped Accord, with the V6 standard and Honda Sensing included. It suits you best if you want the most features and the strongest all-around package.

Honda Sensing is standard on the Touring, and it is available across the lineup except that it cannot be paired with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting a flood of bargain pricing.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 43.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,131, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,295 sits slightly below last year's $14,515.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may trim upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the Accord’s broad appeal, strong reputation, and steady demand should help it remain relatively easy to move later. If you keep the car in clean condition and avoid accident history, you’ll be in a better position to protect value over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection from NHTSA and top marks in every other assessment from NHTSA and IIHS.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the key driver-assistance suite here, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is available on every version of the Accord, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission. The car also comes with a standard reversing camera, though rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not part of the package.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 43.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda made a number of improvements to the Accord, making the popular family sedan better in several ways.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,217, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,295 average.
• It is a well-engineered midsize sedan with a strong reputation for long-term dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and improved version, the 2016 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Accord’s core strengths.
