How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,389 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Accords to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and many also value the safety features and interior quality. It also fits well as a comfortable, reliable sedan with good value, even if some owners note quality issues in certain units. With a roomy family-sedan mission and broad everyday appeal, it remains a practical choice for shoppers who want a well-rounded used car. The market also shows 29.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, dependable transportation, and trouble-free ownership as recurring strengths, with many drivers saying they trust it for the long haul. The expert evaluation also describes it as a good hedge against unanticipated expenses and notes favorable reliability ratings. Honda’s cost-effectiveness commentary adds that the Accord’s low insurance costs help keep ownership affordable. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some listings may hide quality issues or specific defects, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 44% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because the available data points to some quality issues and serious defects in certain units. If a listing looks especially clean, confirm that the equipment and safety features match the trim you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the entry point, while the EX, EX-L, Sport, and Touring add more equipment and upscale touches. The base setup is more limited, and the EX, EX-L, and Touring are the trims that get the touchscreen infotainment system.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 185 hp, while the Sport version makes 189 hp. A 3.5-liter V6 is available on the EX-L and Touring, and the V6 is the stronger choice if you want more effortless passing power.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on every version, but you cannot pair it with a manual transmission.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen system uses a 7-inch display and includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Siri Eyes Free, and HondaLink connected services. Every 2016 Accord has Bluetooth, streaming audio, text-messaging support, a USB port, and Pandora access, but the touchscreen setup is not on the LX or Sport.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder engine is described as refined and efficient, and the Accord averaged 24.6 mpg on the expert test loop. The V6 is thirstier in city and traffic-heavy driving, though it can return better than 34 mpg on the highway.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the least expensive way into the Accord, but you give up the touchscreen infotainment system and some of the richer equipment found higher up the range. It makes sense if you want the basics and plan to keep costs down.
• Sport: This trim adds a more athletic feel and gets the stronger 189-hp version of the 4-cylinder engine. It is a good fit if you want a little more character without moving all the way up the lineup.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and HondaLink. It also gets LaneWatch, which adds a camera-based view of the right-side blind spot.
• EX-L: This trim builds on the EX with a more upscale feel and is also the gateway to the available V6 engine. It suits you if you want more comfort and stronger power without jumping straight to the top trim.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped Accord, with the standard Honda Sensing package and the most premium presentation. It is the right pick if you want the most features and do not mind paying more for them.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version, but you cannot combine it with a manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,389 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 44.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,133, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,422 sits slightly below last year's $14,490.

That small decline suggests the Accord is holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of price stability is helpful because it points to predictable demand and less risk of a sudden drop. The model’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should continue to support buyer interest over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection from the federal government.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. The system is standard on every version, but you cannot combine it with a manual transmission. The Accord also comes with a standard reversing camera with three viewpoints, including a 180-degree rear view. One caveat is that rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not included, and LaneWatch only covers the right side on EX, EX-L, and Touring trims.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 44% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda made a number of improvements to the 2016 Accord, helping it feel better in several ways.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,234, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,422 average.
• It stands out for long-term dependability and broad everyday competence.

The bottom line: Choose the 2016 if you want the newer model-year improvements and a stable price trend. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you can find one in strong condition.

How does the 2016 Honda Accord compare to the 2016 Toyota Camry?

Our experts score the 2016 Honda Accord 6.8/10 and the 2016 Toyota Camry 7.2/10.

The Accord brings stronger performance, better fuel economy, and a more engaging drive, while the Camry edges it on overall expert score and slightly better accident-free share. The Accord also has a higher average used price, but it offers more listings and a stronger good-and-great-deal share than the Camry. If you want the more satisfying driver’s car, the Accord is the better fit; if you want the slightly higher-scoring alternative, the Camry is worth a look.
