There are 1,427 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 4.71/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the Yukon’s spaciousness, strong horsepower, smooth ride, and user-friendly features, and the overview also highlights its roomy cabin, polished feel, and practical family-hauler layout. If you want a full-size SUV that emphasizes space, comfort, and modern convenience, this model year fits that use case well. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centered on its smooth ride, strong performance, and comfortable driving experience. That kind of positive long-term ownership sentiment matters when you’re shopping used, because it suggests the Yukon can be a vehicle you feel good about keeping for years. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about broad dissatisfaction and more about finding a well-kept example with condition that matches the asking price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or other red flags. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to tires and overall wear since owner feedback mentions tire-condition concerns in some cases. Focus on how the SUV presents in person, because condition will matter a lot when you’re comparing similarly priced listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,450, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $19,450 sits slightly below last year's $21,281.

That softer pricing suggests the Yukon has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its value curve, which can help you if you’re purchasing now. For a future seller, the current market indicates you may not see rapid appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter a lot when it’s time to resell. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want a spacious, powerful full-size SUV with strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 Yukon makes the most sense if you want a roomy, well-equipped full-size SUV and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If your priority is value, this year’s softer pricing and decent deal availability make it a strong primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge.
