Is the 2016 Ford Fusion a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Ford Fusion earns a 4.1/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, comfort, and reliability, and many also like the spacious interior and generous standard features. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize sedan that feels polished, roomy, and easy to live with. With 28.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback specifically calls out reliability alongside the car’s smooth ride and comfort, which is encouraging if you want a used sedan you can count on. The same owner feedback also points to a few minor design flaws and some rearview camera and acceleration complaints, so it’s smart to focus on condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has been poorly maintained or has unresolved small issues that can add up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Fusion?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then make sure the electronics and camera systems operate as expected. A careful test drive should also focus on ride quality, braking, and acceleration so you can spot any issues that owner reviews suggest may show up in some cars.

If you find a listing below $8,804, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $8,806 sits slightly below last year's $9,335.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, a lower purchase price can reduce your depreciation exposure if you keep the car in good condition and maintain it well. Demand should also stay supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as a practical midsize sedan.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,314, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $8,806 average.
• It offers a stylish, distinctive design with strong owner appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2016 is the stronger primary choice because it combines a lower current price trend with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If your top priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
