Used 2016 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 3.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 865 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames it as Chevrolet’s first subcompact crossover, built to be practical, compact, and budget-friendly rather than flashy or oversized. That makes it a sensible fit if you want an easy-to-park small SUV with a higher driving position and useful everyday packaging. With 30.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes the Trax’s practical formula: compact size, useful packaging, and a broad feature set for the price. It also notes that the engine output is merely adequate, so you should expect a vehicle that prioritizes usability over performance. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about condition and maintenance history than about chasing high-output drivability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Trax?

At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially clean or unusually cheap. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s features and interior equipment still work as expected. Because this model was positioned as a practical budget crossover, a well-kept example matters more than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing appears, but you should still compare carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 865 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,649, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $8,722 sits slightly below last year's $9,019.

That decline suggests the Trax has softened a bit in the market, which can work against you if you're planning to sell soon. On the other hand, the lower entry price may help keep demand steady among shoppers looking for an affordable small crossover. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $9,049, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $8,722 average.
• It brings a redesign with updated styling and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you can stretch for a newer model and want the updated tech and redesign, the 2017 is the better secondary path for buyers who care more about features than upfront savings.
