How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 9.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,275 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

Generally — the 4.2/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked SUV. Drivers most often praise its spaciousness, family-friendly features, and reliable family-vehicle usefulness, while also noting its nice design. The overview points to a strong fit if you need one vehicle to carry people and gear, with up to nine-passenger seating and generous cargo space. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a reliable family vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time, and some specifically describe it as dependable for everyday use. That said, a few drivers mention transmission concerns, so you should treat long-term ownership as something to verify carefully on any used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and pay close attention to accident records, title status, and service documentation. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the transmission, climate control operation, and overall wear, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most on a large used SUV. It also helps to compare maintenance records across listings so you can prioritize the cleanest, best-documented example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,275 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,142, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $17,142 sits slightly below last year's $18,997.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of depreciation over your ownership period. Demand should remain supported by the Suburban’s family-hauling reputation and broad usefulness.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a roomy, family-focused Suburban with a softer used price and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a sensible target when you find a clean, well-maintained example at the right number.
