How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,946 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Generally — with a 4.45/5 user rating, this Silverado earns strong marks from owners. They most often praise its great value, reliability, comfortable features, good gas mileage, and stable road manners. That lines up well if you want a full-size pickup that blends traditional truck capability with a more modern feature set. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.45/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to reliability, and many drivers describe the truck as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. The same reviews also emphasize comfort and long-term value, which suggests the ownership experience can be rewarding when you find a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, so a clean, documented truck is the safer bet.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, and any evidence of poor repairs, since those issues can be more important than mileage alone. It also makes sense to pay close attention to overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,946 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,590, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $18,590 sits slightly below last year's $19,971.

That price movement suggests the truck has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it easier to purchase now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you buy at a strong price and keep the truck in good condition, you can help protect your resale position. Trucks with clean histories and strong owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.45/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.45/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,166, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,590 average.
• It leans into a simpler, more traditional full-size pickup formula.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and market availability, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and may be worth a closer look.
