How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Impala cost?

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

The 2016 Chevrolet Impala stands out as a big American sedan that emphasizes space, comfort, and easy-to-use technology. It offers a roomy cabin, a large rear seat, strong visibility, and an 18.8-cubic-foot trunk, so it fits well if you want full-size practicality without a luxury-car price tag.

It also brings a broad feature set, with modern infotainment and available convenience and safety tech that make it feel well equipped for everyday use. The main tradeoff is that the base four-cylinder is described as underpowered for the car’s size, so the stronger V6 is the better match if you want more confident performance.

With 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a value-oriented example.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

The 2016 Chevrolet Impala is presented as a refined, comfortable full-size sedan with a strong reputation for smoothness and everyday usability. Its appeal comes from the way it balances comfort, space, and a broad feature set rather than from any single standout performance trait.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing the wrong powertrain or a poorly maintained example, since the car’s size and equipment can make neglected maintenance more costly to sort out later.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Impala?

At 48% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair quality. Focus closely on overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide accident-related issues or deferred maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 548 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,042, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $11,346 sits slightly below last year's $11,653.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit easier to buy, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If you own one, condition and documentation will matter more when it comes time to resell, especially because buyers can compare many similar listings. A well-kept example with clean history should hold up better than one with visible wear or prior damage.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.64% compared with last year.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,856, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $11,346 average.
• It offers calm, predictable driving for everyday use.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the stronger overall value proposition and are willing to shop carefully for a clean example. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the better budget path, especially if you find one in strong condition with a solid maintenance history.
