Summary
With 1,044 currently listed for sale and an average price of $56,594, 31.1% of 2016 Chevrolet Corvettes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette 4.94 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette stands out as a true American sports car with a mix of futuristic and nostalgic styling, a significantly updated interior, and performance that is described as blinding. It is presented as the kind of car buyers may wish they had purchased before an era like this passed, which underscores how special it feels in the moment.
What makes it especially appealing is how far its capability can go when equipped with optional cooling, adaptive suspension, and bigger brakes. In that form, it can seriously play with cars that cost three times as much. At the same time, the car’s strengths are centered on performance and style, so buyers looking at a used example should pay close attention to condition and equipment, since owner feedback also points to the importance of finding one that has been well cared for.

The C7 is a dramatic improvement over the C6. The interior is much more refined. The handling and acceleration are also much better. Ive owned a C5 and C6, they simply dont compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?
Yes — it earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10. Owners consistently praise its exceptional performance, strong value for money, sleek design, and modern interior features. For you, that means this is a car that fits best if you want a used sports car with serious pace and a cabin that feels more contemporary than older Corvettes. 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?
Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Reviewers also describe it as exceptional, value-packed, and well liked for its performance and design, with comments pointing to a car that owners feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Corvette’s strong performance and value proposition, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable enthusiast choice when maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about finding one that has been cared for and not abused.
What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?
At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Pay close attention to signs of wear, smoke odor, and whether the car’s equipment matches the way you plan to use it. Because this model’s appeal is tied so closely to performance, condition matters as much as mileage.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT packages differ mainly in comfort and convenience equipment. The 1LT is the simplest setup, while the 2LT adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. The 3LT adds leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder as standard.
- Powertrain: You get a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 with 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The car can run to 60 mph in under 4 seconds, and the automatic transmission is described as especially adept at keeping the engine in its sweet spot.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes 4 airbags, side-impact airbags, a protective cell, four-wheel antilock brakes, automatic seat-belt pretensioners, and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.
- Infotainment: Dual 8-inch screens anchor the cabin, and Chevrolet MyLink includes phone, audio, and navigation when equipped. Apple CarPlay is included, and Android Auto was to follow later. OnStar is also integrated.
- Fuel efficiency: The engine uses direct injection and cylinder deactivation to offer a whisper of fuel efficiency between bursts of power. The Corvette also has an 18-gallon tank and requires premium fuel.
Which 2016 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?
The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.
Here's the short version:
- 1LT: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Corvette’s core appeal: the same styling, the same V8 performance, and the same basic sports-car character. It makes sense if you care most about driving experience and want the lowest-cost way into the model.
- 2LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful everyday comfort and convenience features, including heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. If you want the sweet spot between price and livability, this is the one to focus on.
- 3LT: This is the most upscale version, with leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder as standard. It suits you best if you want the most premium cabin and the most complete feature set.
Higher trims also bring front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.
- Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,041 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.25% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 73.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $54,086, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?
The current average of $56,531 sits slightly below last year's $57,831.
That kind of price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just the badge alone. Well-kept examples with desirable features should remain easier to move than rougher cars, especially in a performance-focused market.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette safe?
The Chevrolet Corvette has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, including side-impact airbags and a protective cell, even on the convertible. Four-wheel antilock brakes, automatic seat-belt pretensioners, and mandatory electronic stability control are also standard. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help when parking and backing out. Visibility is limited because of the low-slung body and small windows, so that’s something you should factor into everyday use.
Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.25% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2016 stands out for its updated interior and blinding performance, with optional cooling, adaptive suspension, and bigger brakes helping it punch far above its price.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, style, and value in this generation, the 2016 is an easy year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and look for a well-kept example with the right equipment, but the best move is to prioritize condition and history over chasing the cheapest listing.
