Used 2016 BMW X5 for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2016 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 10.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,284 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.75/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, luxurious interior, and features, and they also like the powerful engine and sporty driving experience. For you, that means this X5 fits especially well if you want a luxury SUV that still emphasizes driving feel, roominess, and upscale cabin appeal. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable enough to keep enjoying over time, especially when it has been well maintained. At the same time, the model’s complexity means condition and service history matter more than they would on a simpler SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example that can become expensive to keep in top shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW X5?

At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV where maintenance quality can vary widely from one owner to the next. Focus your attention on overall condition, service records, and signs that the vehicle has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X5?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,284 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,711, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $13,716 sits slightly below last year's $15,244.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to resell later, the softer pricing means your future value will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and documentation. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, but neglected ones may be harder to move without discounting.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,383, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,716 average.
• It emphasizes BMW’s sporty handling and practical SUV utility.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall value balance, the 2016 is the better starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path, especially if you find one with a strong maintenance record.
