Is the 2016 Audi Q5 a good car?

Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, superb interior quality, and impressive performance, and many also value the spaciousness and premium features that make it comfortable and easy to live with. Is the 2016 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling driving experience, and many buyers describe the Q5 as a vehicle they can count on for comfort and premium usability. The same owner feedback also points to strong long-term appeal thanks to its solid build quality and refined everyday manners. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that maintenance history matters, so a well-kept example is much safer than one with gaps in service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q5?

At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who knows luxury SUVs. Focus closely on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, suspension noise, and evidence of deferred maintenance, since condition and service history matter a lot on this model. If a listing has incomplete records or visible wear that does not match the mileage, it is worth moving on.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi Q5?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 985 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,125, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $11,231 sits slightly below last year's $12,536.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Q5 more attractive to you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance documentation. A clean, well-kept example should hold up better than one with visible wear or a spotty service history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Q5 makes the most sense if you want a well-liked luxury SUV and you can verify that the specific vehicle has a clean history and solid maintenance records. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-documented example rather than the newest one.
