How much does the 2016 Audi Q3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.15% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 462 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Audi Q3 earns a 4/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

You get a compact Audi SUV that emphasizes a refined cabin, nimble handling, and a quiet ride, and it is aimed at buyers who want a smaller, more affordable entry into the brand. The tradeoff is that it is fairly stripped down, so its appeal is strongest if you value a premium feel and compact size more than a long list of extras.

34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Q3’s core strengths point to a durable-feeling ownership experience: Audi’s familiar build quality, a quiet cabin, and a powertrain that delivers smooth, responsive performance. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is described as refined, with minimal lag and a 6-speed automatic that helps it launch quickly and smoothly.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the Q3’s sparse equipment and dated electronics can make it feel less compelling over time, especially if you expect modern convenience features.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q3?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on whether it still feels clean, quiet, and well kept. If you are comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to the ones with the clearest maintenance and accident history.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Q3’s appeal is strongest when you value its compact footprint, premium feel, and standard panoramic moonroof, but the cabin can feel basic and the standard stereo is subpar. The Prestige trim adds the Technology package, a power tailgate, larger 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps, and a 14-speaker Bose stereo.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder delivers 200 hp with minimal lag, and the 6-speed automatic helps it launch quickly and smoothly. Quattro all-wheel drive is the main setup you will find in most markets.
• Safety package: The Technology package adds blind-spot monitoring and a color display. The Q3 does not offer a collision warning system, and it also does not have knee airbags.
• Infotainment: Without the Technology package, there is not much happening inside, and even the instrument panel display is monochrome. The package adds navigation with traffic overlays, Audi Connect, onboard Wi-Fi, local fuel prices, parking info, and weather.
• Fuel efficiency: The Q3 is EPA-rated at 20 mpg city and 28 highway.

Which 2016 Audi Q3 trim should I buy?

The 2016 Audi Q3 is offered in 1 trim level: Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

The Premium Plus is the trim to focus on because it captures the Q3’s core strengths without changing the formula: a compact luxury SUV with a quiet ride, lively steering, and a refined feel. If you want the most complete version of this model year, look for one with the Technology package, since it adds navigation, Audi Connect, blind-spot monitoring, and a color display. The safety package note is important here: the Q3 does not offer a collision warning system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi Q3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 462 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,129, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi Q3's resale value?

The current average of $11,129 sits slightly below last year's $12,249.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on price. If the market continues to favor shoppers, resale values may remain under pressure unless a specific listing stands out for condition, equipment, or history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 safe?

The 2016 Q3 is a 2015 Top Safety Pick as rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and scored the top Good rating in all five crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Q3’s safety story is strong on crash performance, but it no longer qualifies for 2016 because it does not offer a collision warning system. The standard safety setup also lacks knee airbags, and the Technology package is the trim-related path to blind-spot monitoring.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Compact crossovers and SUVs are among the nation's hottest-selling vehicles, and the Q3 sits below the Q5 and Q7, with a substantial discount versus the Q5 that may appeal if you want to cut your car payment.

The bottom line: If you want the most affordable path into an Audi SUV and you value a compact footprint, quiet cabin, and premium feel, the 2016 Q3 makes sense. If you are shopping mainly on features or value, you should compare it carefully against other used luxury crossovers, because this model year is strongest when the badge, size, and refinement matter more than equipment breadth.

How does the 2016 Audi Q3 compare to the 2016 BMW X1?
